Welcome all, no points this week. Keep an eye on Jean-Claude Juncker, he seems a bit wobbly lately, he blames it on a bad back but we think he’s about to die of Brexit madness. Believe it or not, Frank Sinatra’s first wife, Nancy Snr, isn’t famous enough to make the Wiki list!! At 101 she wouldn’t have scored you much anyhow.

Television and radio presenter Richard Bacon spent days in a medically induced coma after becoming critically ill with suspected pneumonia. He was taken to hospital eight days ago after becoming unwell on a flight to Britain from the United States. His mother Christine us that he had since opened his eyes briefly, which was “such a relief”. “Although he is not responding to us very well yet, we can see that he is getting better,” she said. She also said family members had not left his side and that “at one point we really felt we might lose him”. The former Blue Peter and BBC Radio 5 live presenter had initially been well enough to post photos of himself on social media. But his condition worsened and he had to have a tracheotomy to help him breathe, his sister said. Bacon, 42, who was born in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, was placed in the coma after failing to respond to treatment for suspected pneumonia.
Hollywood star George Clooney was taken to hospital after suffering minor injuries in a collision involving his motorbike and a car. The accident happened in Sardinia where the US actor is filming his latest TV series, Catch-22. A representative for the actor, 57, said he was treated and released from a hospital in the Sardinian city of Olbia. “He is recovering at his home and will be fine,” the spokesperson continued. “At 8.15am George Clooney was riding his scooter on the State Road 125 towards Olbia from Puntaldia,” said a spokesman for the Italian Carabinieri in a statement. “A car (a Mercedes E SW) did not respect the right of way and hit him. George Clooney fell and slammed the windshield of the Mercedes. “The car driver called the 112, the emergency number of Carabinieri, and they sent the Municipal Police, an ambulance and the Fire Dept. “[The] MRI was negative, and he is not seriously injured. George Clooney has already been discharged and he stays well.”
Tesco’s UK chief executive, Charles Wilson, is stepping down from the company board after being diagnosed with throat cancer. Mr Wilson was formerly boss of food wholesaler Booker, but became Tesco’s UK chief following the supermarket’s £3.7bn takeover of Booker in March. Tesco said Mr Wilson had responded well to treatment and all the signs were that it had been successful. However, there was a need for him to “remain vigilant in his recuperation”. Mr Wilson will remain on Tesco’s executive committee and will focus on leading the Booker business. He will continue to report to Tesco’s overall chief executive, Dave Lewis. “Following an operation to remove his tonsils in April of this year, Charles Wilson was diagnosed with throat cancer,” Tesco said in a statement. “During May and June, he has been undergoing daily radiotherapy.”
